Plant identification with my little sister
“Now this is the ivy of the heart,
coming from its root, heart.”
“This is fairy dust, well because it looks like something
a fairy left behind.”
We amble along and pass a fallen tree.
“This is what we call a snap-crackle.”
A smaller iteration of a sword fern that
grows out of a rock is dubbed, “Arthur’s dagger”.
“Anemone lichen.” “Truffula moss.” “Dragon droppings.”
What wondrous plants we find.
“It looks like a carpet. Its feels like a carpet. It’s carpet moss.”
What a silly and glorious mind.
