Strawberry season
In my college town, early May rolled around,
and the strawberries were ripe for the picking
just as I graduated and made my way north.
Up to eastern Washington where,
while walking with a friend
on a sublime sunny day in June,
strawberries peeked out at us,
warmed by the sun, sweet as summer.
Now, it’s July here in Glacier Bay, AK
where the wild strawberries taste of
dew drops and the salty sea.
I suppose it’s always strawberry season somewhere.
