Concrete houses are stacked upon each other 
and patchwork fields dot the farms that 

rise up behind these layers of 

gray.
Trucks and motos rumble along the 

gray stone streets and coros of dogs, engines and construction,    

    peppered with a rooster coo or two, 
create a cacophony,
this soundtrack of Guatemalan urban spaces.

 
The volcán puffs out 

gray smoke in the distance and 
the clear blue sky mocks the fog and 
constant rain of the past few days.
